Corsair XMS3000 512MB Module is in stock
(posted 29/4/2002 by marcom_n)

We have the new ultra fast Corsair 512MB XMS3000 in stock now.

The CMX512-3000C2 is a 512 MByte, dual bank, ultra-performance DDR SDRAM DIMM screened specifically for gaming applications. This part has been selected by our Compatibility Lab for its outstanding performance in motherboards commonly used in gaming rigs. This memory has been verified to operate at 185 MHz (2-3-3, 1T command rate) and 166 MHz (2-2-2, 1T command rate). Generally, one 512 MByte module will outperform two 256 MByte modules in a given motherboard. Side-by-side comparison indicates that this is one of the fastest DDR modules available in the world.

A recent review shows Corsair XMS3000 can handle the highest FSB when comparing 5 PC3000/PC2700 DDR RAMs. Review at AMDMB.com: http://www.amdmb.com/article-display.php?ArticleID=177&PageID=5

Please see the Corsair press release here: http://www.corsairmicro.com/main/PR_cmx512-3200.html

We do not have a firm date for the availability of the XMS3200, but they should not be far away.

Price list in one file, show all with details
(posted 21/4/2002 by marcom_n)

Woke up Sunday morning thinking a live price-list could be handy to some people. So here we are:

Automatically generated price list: http://www.eyo.com.au/price_list.php

It can be saved as a tab delimited text file. Spreadsheets or database program should be able to import it easily. If people do use it, I will put a link somewhere for it.

Also have completed the "Show all with details" click, to simulate the behaviour of the old web site which many people were used to. eg. http://www.eyo.com.au/items.php?CatID=11;ShowAll=d should show all the products under the motherboard category with almost the full details. Extra long descriptions are chopped off at the word boundary. html tags are striped.

New products: Linksys networking stuff
(posted 19/4/2002 by marcom_n)

We now also carry the Linksys networking gears. We have two of their products in stock: 8port switch and Cable/DSL router/4port switch. They are all in retail boxes and the prices are very competitive.

Though not a familiar brand name in Australia, Linksys currently owns 30.8% of the networking hardware market in the US retail channel. Number one ahead of NetGear.

The winner for the favicon.ico is...
(posted 15/4/2002 by marcom_n)

We have picked J. Smith 's entry as the winner.:) J. Smith's favicon.ico can be viewed at http://www.eyo.com.au/favicon.ico

Thank you very much for all the participants! Special thanks to Lyndy from Wombat Web Design who also provided an eyo favicon.ico

For those who do not know what a favicon.ico is. Favicon.ico is used by IE 5 or above. When the eyo web site is bookmarked. A small icon will appear under the Favorites list for eyo. The icon will also replace the boring IE icon in front of the address bar. If you have already bookmarked eyo web site, the old entry needs to be deleted before the new icon can be downloaded. Sometimes it is also necessary to clear out the temporarily internet files. At the moment only MS IE and KDE's Konqueror support favicon.ico
