computer in your home
or over the Internet. Create a shared space for your friends to download photos, videos and music that you choose
to share, and allow them to upload their own content that they choose to share with you.
The GoFlex Net media sharing device works with GoFlex ultra-portable drives and any other USB storage
devices to be shared on your local network or accessed remotely via the Internet. GoFlex ultra-portable drives
simply slide into the GoFlex Net media sharing device, making it easy to add more storage capacity or remove it
when you want to take the drive with you while on the go. Additional storage devices can be plugged into the rearmounted USB 2.0 port. The GoFlex Net media sharing device supports two GoFlex ultra-portable drives and one
additional USB storage device simultaneously, so you will never have to worry about running out of storage space.
And, you will be able to access your files with incredible speed thanks to the Gigabit Ethernet connectivity.
Getting Started
The installation process could not be any easier. Simply connect your GoFlex Net media sharing device to your
router and visit a web page to activate and automatically configure the device – no firewall settings to configure
and no networking knowledge required. Once activated, you can access all your files with a clean, web-based
interface using your favourite web browser. The same interface is used to view files from any networked computer
in your home and outside the home when accessing files remotely. The web interface displays all the files on all
the drives you have connected to the GoFlex Net media sharing device, along with all the files shared with you by
other GoFlex Net media sharing device owners.
You can navigate the GoFlex Net interface easily with thumbnail or list views, search by file name or filter by media
type. The GoFlex Net media sharing device also appears as a local drive on your computer, so that you can navigate
and drag and drop files just as easily as if there were a USB drive physically attached to your computer. There is
even a free mobile app available for iPad®
, iPhone®
, Blackberry®
and Android®
devices, enabling you to access your
content while you are away from home. And, the app allows you to send pictures and videos straight from your
smart phone to a folder on the GoFlex Net media sharing device.
Access and Sharing Made Easy
The GoFlex Net media sharing device offers one of the easiest ways to share files with friends and family – anywhere
in the world. Simply type in your friends’ email addresses and they will automatically receive an email linked to the
folders or files you chose to share with them. They will now have access to their own GoFlex Net interface that
displays all the files shared with them. If your friends also have a GoFlex Net media sharing device, they will see
not only their own files, but all the files shared with them in the same interface.
Integrate with your favourite social media sites such as Facebook®
, Twitter®
and MySpace®
, and keep your friends
in the loop with easy-to-publish RSS feeds. RSS feeds allow you keep up-to-date the content you share the most.
Instead of constantly uploading new photos to your favourite social media page, simply copy and paste a single
RSS link from the GoFelx Net folder containing the pictures you want to share. Now, every time you add pictures
to that particular folder on the GoFlex Net media sharing device, they will automatically appear on your social
media page.
